Offshore services provider Babcock International has introduced
the first two Airbus Helicopters H175 rotorcraft to be deployed in the southern
hemisphere.
The helicopters will operate
from Dili, Timor Leste to provide transport, search and rescue, and
medical evacuation services in the Timor Sea, says Airbus Helicopters in a
statement.
The two helicopters were initially
transported to Australia in an Antonov cargo aircraft so that they could enter
service on 1 January 2018.
Airbus worked with Babcock to train 27
pilots an engineers for the H175. A further 19 Timorese will provide support
in Dili.
