A light plane crash lands on Portuguese beach and two people killed

A light plane crash landed on a packed beach near Lisbon on Wednesday, killing two people.

The victims of the accident were a 56-year-old man and an 8-year-old girl on the beach, who were not related. A 45-year-old woman was slightly injured and had been taken to hospital for treatment. Portuguese Lusa News Agency reported

The landed plane was carrying out a training flight with a student and a senior instructor, and the two were not injured.

The Portuguese authorities have begun to investigate the cause of the accident.
